2020

Kobe was first released as a single-weight in 2018 by Jérémy Schneider at vj-type. In 2020, we adapted a new version for better text purposes. Five new styles (black, black oblique, bold, bold oblique, regular oblique) were added. Kobe’s numerous ligatures and stylistic sets take inspiration from Japanese writing shapes. The daring slant of the oblique is a testimony to the studio’s quirky approach at designing fonts.
